    Working Holiday in New Zealand
    May 2023 - Apr 2024
    New Zealand
    • I decided to respectfully decline a full-time position as Software Engineer at netzkontor nord gmbh after graduating with my Bachelor's Degree.

    • Although I had an awesome time at netzkontor, I was too excited to start another Working Holiday in New Zealand after having such a positive experience during my previous Working Holiday in Canada in 2017.

    Goals

    • I wanted to continue developing software and build personal projects like Emotes On My Mind while abroad.

    • Kept supporting previous freelance IT-Projects like "In Kontakt bleiben" and "Digital Door Signs" during my time in New Zealand.

    Auckland

    • Landed in Auckland and lived there for the first six months.

    • Made friends from New Zealand, England, Thailand, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan and more.

    • Went through a bunch of successful interviews for jobs as Software Developer, however ended up losing out to other applicants due to my very restricted Working Holiday Visa.

    Christchurch

    • Moved to Christchurch for the second half of the year and went back into hospitality.

    • Had a lovely time here with great balance between work & travels - simply enjoying life!

    • My sister decided to join me in Christchurch too which made it even better!

    • Probably one of the best places to retire one day... :)
